The membership of the Fryderyk Chopin Society consists of ordinary and honorary members. Honorary membership is granted by the General Meeting, upon formal request made by the Board, to individuals exceptionally committed to the Society’s goals and values. They include world-famous pianists Ingrid Fliter (Argentina), Kevin Kenner (USA), Garrick Ohlsson (USA) and Dina Yoffe (Latvia).
The Society’s honorary membership has a long history. It began with Jan Ignacy Paderewski, a pianist and editor-in-chief of the Complete Works of Fryderyk Chopin project (IFC/TiFC– PWM). Other honorary members have included outstanding virtuoso pianists and Chopin researchers, such as Arthur Hedley, a famous collector of autographs and memorabilia of Chopin and his biographer.
